Governor Andy Beshear gave his weekly COVID-19 update at the state capitol in Frankfort. Governor Beshear announced 137 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the state’s total case number to 458,712. 34 of the new cases were children 18 and younger. 324 Kentuckians remain hospitalized with 111 in the ICU. 56 patients remain on a ventilator. The state’s positivity rate stayed mostly steady at 2.50%. Gov. Beshear also announced 261 deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 7,067. At least 2,058,029 Kentuckians have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Because of increased vaccination numbers, Gov. Beshear announced that senior centers will reopen at full capacity on June 11. At last report none of the state’s 120 counties is in the red zone on the state’s COVID-19 incidence rate map.
